- What is the responsibility of the GGCT?
"GGCT" constitutes a Strategic Coordination Committee designated to guarantee immediate and efficient operational measures to be taken when Macau SAR residents are involved in emergency situations resulted from serious accidents, catastrophe or calamity abroad as well as tourists are involved in the same situation in Macau SAR.
- Under what condition will the GGCT activate?
The GGCT will be activated when Macau SAR residents are involved in emergency situations resulted from serious accidents, catastrophe or calamity abroad as well as tourists are involved in the same situation in Macau SAR.
- Can I consult the GGCT for any travel advice before my trip?
We are not at the position to alarm travel advice. Please consult the Foreign Affairs and travel agency for travel advisory.
- If I lost my passport during my travel, or my passport is suspected and detained for inquiries, can I seek help from the GGCT?
In these cases, we suggest you contact the local Embassy/ Consulate of the People’s Republic of China in the foreign country you are visiting to seek for direct assistance.
You may also consider contacting the Macau Identification Bureau at its emergency hotline aiding loss of passport at (+853) 2857 3333 and/or visit their website at www.dsi.gov.mo/24hHotline_index_e.html for assistance.
- If I lost my (a) luggage; (b) medication; (c) valuables during my travel, can I seek help from the GGCT?
- You should directly contact your airline company, travel agency and insurance company for luggage matters.
- You should directly contact a hospital in your destination for medication replenishment.
- In case you lost your valuables, please contact the local police and make a declaration.
- My credit card has been stolen, what should I do?
Please contact the emergency number of your credit card company, either in Macau or in the country where you have lost your card.
- We are overseas and one of our traveling parties was found dead, what should we do?
Please contact both local police and local Embassy/ Consulate of the People’s Republic of China located in the foreign country you are visiting.
You may also contact your travel agent and/or travel insurance company.
