Travel security alert to Turkey

Given the recent security situation in Turkey, the Chinese Embassy and Consulates in Turkey issued a travel security alert to Chinese citizens. Following is the translated version of the full text:

 

“Recently there were several anti-Chinese demonstrations in Turkey, during which some Chinese tourists were attacked. The Chinese Embassy and Consulates in Turkey reminds Chinese citizens in Turkey to strengthen security precautions to protect their personal safety, not to approach or film the protesters and as much as possible to maintain in their residences. In case of emergency, they should contact the police or the Chinese Embassy and Consulates for assistance.

The Tourism Crisis Management Office (GGCT) will keep monitoring the latest developments and alerts Macao residents who intend to travel to Turkey to follow closely the situation, critically assess the security risks and cautiously consider their travel plans. Macao residents already in Turkey should strengthen security precautions to protect their personal safety.

 

From information gathered through the Macao travel industry, there is currently no Macao tour group in Turkey. Until the present moment, GGCT has not received any requests for information or assistance.
