Travel security alert to Belgium

Given the recent security situation in Belgium, the Embassy of China in Belgium issued a security alert to Chinese citizens in that country, reminding them to strengthen their personal safety, avoid leaving their residences, going to the airport or areas with large gatherings of people, and to follow strictly the security indications given by the authorities; and for Chinese citizens who intend to travel to Belgium to consider carefully their travel plans to that country.
In case of emergency, they should contact immediately the police and the Chinese Embassy in Belgium for assistance.

At present, Brussels’ International Airport is closed and all flights to that destination are cancelled. Roads connecting to the airport are currently with reinforced security and all public transportations are suspended. Belgium has announced an elevation of their security level from 3 to 4 (maximum level). Until the present moment, the incident has caused 34 deaths and more than 200 injured.
The Tourism Crisis Management Office (GGCT) will continue to monitor the latest developments and alerts Macao residents who intend to travel to Belgium to follow closely the situation, critically assess the security risks and cautiously consider their travel plans. Macao residents already in Belgium should strengthen security precautions to protect their personal safety.
From information gathered through the Macao travel industry, there are currently no Macao tour groups in Belgium. Until the present moment, GGCT has received 2 requests for information and no request for assistance.
