The Macau Government Tourist Office (DST) with the joint efforts of the Tourism Crisis Management Office (GGCT) solved today a case that involved more than 360 visitors from Mainland China who were abandoned at Macao Outer Harbor Ferry Terminal and the Taipa Temporary Ferry Terminal this morning.

The abandoned visitors from Mainland China were participating in a four-day tour organized by a travel agency in Shenzhen to Hong Kong and Macau. This morning, after having traveled by boat from Hong Kong to Macao accompanied by the group leader from Shenzhen, the group found out that there was no Macao ground operator to accompany the group. The Shenzhen group leader immediately called the agency in Shenzhen to investigate the situation which replied that the itinerary in Macao had been canceled.

DST Director, Joao Manuel Costa Antunes, went to the Macao Outer Harbor Ferry Terminal and the Taipa Temporary Ferry Terminal in order to learn about the situation and solve the problem. DST and GGCT immediately took the necessary measures and with the support of tour operators, tour buses were arranged to transport the affected visitors to the Border Gate in order for them to return to Mainland China.

Among the visitors, about 350 opted to take the buses.

The other remaining visitors along side with the group's leader remained in the Taipa Temporary Ferry Terminal waiting for more information from travel agency in Shenzhen, in the meantime the group has already left the location by their own means.
