Regarding the announcement of liquidation by the shipping company Macao Dragon Co., Ltd., the Maritime Administration informs that it has not received any official notification from the shipping company.

 

The Maritime Administration has activated its emergency response mechanism, to coordinate other shipping companies to ease the potentially affected residents and visitors.

 

Actions taken by the Maritime Administration, aims to guarantee the protection of passengers and the principles of maritime safety upholding order and of the maritime passenger transport regulations in Macao.

 

In the matter referring to passenger capacity limit given to the shipping company Macao Dragon Co., Ltd. vessels, the actions taken by the Maritime Administration are also based on the principles of the protection of passengers and the safety of maritime transportation, which takes into account the ferry terminal's handling capacity, the safety record of the vessel's navigation safety record and other factors for consideration.
